Youth Fellowship

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." — 1 Timothy 4:12

Who We Are

The Youth Fellowship of St. Peters Mar Thoma Church, Washington Township, New Jersey, is a vibrant and dynamic community of young people united by their faith in Jesus Christ and their passion to live it out boldly. The mission of the Youth Fellowship exists to promote the spiritual life of its members through the studying of the Word, fostering community, and growing in discipleship.

As an integral part of the Mar Thoma Church's broader vision, the Youth Fellowship at St. Peters is a place where young people — from high school through young adulthood — are welcomed, challenged, and equipped to live as committed followers of Christ in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Our Mission

The Youth Fellowship of St. Peters is rooted in three core convictions: that young people matter deeply to God, that their faith must be grounded in Scripture and community, and that they are called not just to believe — but to serve, witness, and lead. We seek to nurture a generation of young Christians who are spiritually rooted, relationally connected, and missionally engaged.

The Youth Fellowship holds Praise Nights conducted by Youth Alive — evenings of praise, worship, and fellowship with one another, where church members are also welcomed to participate, and which have always been a great blessing.

What We Do

The Youth Fellowship at St. Peters offers a rich and engaging calendar of programs and activities designed to nurture both the faith and fellowship of its members. These include Bible study sessions, worship nights, prayer gatherings, regional conferences, and service projects that extend the love of Christ beyond the walls of the church.

The Youth Fellowship participates in Combined Southeast Region Holy Communion Services, with active participation from St. Peters and neighboring Mar Thoma churches. These regional gatherings create opportunities for young people to connect across congregations, deepening their sense of belonging to the wider Mar Thoma family.

The fellowship has also established a Big Brother/Big Sister program where older youth serve as mentors to younger members — a meaningful way to engage the younger generation and ensure that older youth are always there to guide and support them.

Rooted in a Greater Tradition

The Youth Fellowship of St. Peters is part of the Mar Thoma Youth Fellowship, a movement with a long and inspiring legacy across the Diocese of North America and worldwide. Guided by the motto "Lighted to Lighten," the fellowship carries the torch of evangelical witness and Christian service into every corner of life. Young members are encouraged to see themselves not as the future of the church — but as an active, essential, and Spirit-filled part of the church today.

Come As You Are. Grow Together. Go Change the World.

Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, seeking a community that understands your journey, or looking for a place to use your gifts in service, the Youth Fellowship at St. Peters Mar Thoma Church warmly welcomes you. Come, worship, grow, and be part of something greater than yourself.
